Wbcom Designs Updates #2: 21 Products Updated, and What’s Next
This is the second post in our updates series. It is a catch-up issue: it covers everything Wbcom Designs shipped from September 29 to October 16, 2026, because we skipped a week. From the next issue we are back to one post a week.
Every release below is live, so you can install it from Dashboard > Updates on your WordPress site. Where a product has a free and a Pro version, install both updates together. Each section links to the full release notes.
Here is the short version, grouped by what you can now do:
- Communities: BuddyNext can now sell membership plans through Make, Zapier or n8n. Jetonomy search can run on Meilisearch or Elasticsearch. MediaVerse adds message Unsend and keeps chat files inside the chat.
- Learning: Learnomy adds guest checkout, one site currency for everything sold, and dates shown in your own timezone.
- Directories, marketplaces and jobs: Listora 2.0 saves every contact-form message as a lead. WP Career Board lets one employer run several companies. WP Sell Services adds express delivery.
- Events: Eventonomy 1.8 adds a waitlist for paid events, organizer payout requests and a rebuilt map view.
- Engagement and publishing: WB Gamification imports from myCred, GamiPress or BadgeOS. WB Member Blog counts views on cached pages.
- Stores and themes: new EDD checkout blocks in Wbcom Essential, plus BuddyX 5.1.8 and Reign 8.0.8.
First: two updates that bring automatic updates back
Two releases this round fix how updates reach your site, so start with these if you use either product.
- Learnomy 2.1.3 and Learnomy Pro 2.1.3: Pro sites with a licence activated on the License tab receive automatic Pro updates again, including sites activated on an earlier version. You do not need to re-enter the key. Release notes.
- WB Gamification 1.6.7: sites are offered updates in Dashboard > Updates again, because the update checker now reads the licence key where the plugin saves it. Sites on 1.6.6 or older need this one update installed by hand from My Account. After that, updates arrive automatically. Release notes.
Communities: spaces, forums, media and member tools
BuddyNext 1.2.2 to 1.2.5: sell plans from your automation tools, and one checkout
BuddyNext had four releases in this period. The biggest change for owners who sell access: paid membership was rebuilt around one plan card and one checkout in 1.2.4, and in 1.2.5 Make, Zapier or n8n can sell membership plans, so a sale that starts somewhere else can still open the right spaces.
Along the way:
- Moderation moved to Community Admin and to each space’s own tab, and spaces gained Files folders, a Trash and a revocable invite link (1.2.2).
- Members and Spaces directory pages 2 and beyond open again, Log in links return members to the page they were on, and community pages show a block theme’s own header and footer (1.2.3).
- Space bans and blocks are tighter and colours read well on every theme (1.2.5).
- In Pro, timestamps are fixed on hosts whose database clock is not UTC, broadcasts and drips keep running through an update, and checkout is clearer for PayPal and for coupons on renewing plans.
Release notes: BuddyNext and BuddyNext Pro. What changed in 1.2.5 is also explained in What’s New in 1.2.5.
Jetonomy 2.0.1: search on Meilisearch or Elasticsearch, and forums that work with page caches
A search plugin such as Meilisearch or Elasticsearch can now power the forum search page, the REST API and the app. Logged-out community pages can be stored by page caches such as LiteSpeed Cache and WP Rocket, which makes a busy forum much lighter on the server.
If you moved from bbPress, a bbPress import can now be re-run to bring in the private, hidden and BuddyPress group forums the old importer skipped, and re-running any import adds only what is new. Scheduled topics publish on time. The release also closes two security issues around quoted text and anonymous posts, so update soon. Release notes: Jetonomy and Jetonomy Pro.
MediaVerse 2.6.0 to 2.6.2: simpler settings, Unsend, and faster video
MediaVerse 2.6.0 is a simpler MediaVerse: one Save button that keeps an item in a private Favorites collection, a lightbox with previous, next and swipe, and about 55 settings instead of about 130. Storage is now one optional per-member allowance under Settings > General.
- 2.6.1: Followers is a privacy level members can choose, Explore gets a Trending sort, several videos or audio files upload together with progress, and MP4s start playing sooner. It also closes two security issues, so update soon.
- 2.6.2: chat files stay inside the chat, galleries behave the same everywhere they appear, members can Unsend a message within 15 minutes, and BuddyBoss and MediaPress imports keep photo privacy. PHP 8.1 or newer is required.
Release notes: MediaVerse and MediaVerse Pro.
BuddyPress add-ons: lists, business profiles, reviews and scheduled activity
- BuddyLists 1.3.0 is rebuilt around the list’s own page, where owners add and remove members with community search. It includes a large security pass on private lists, so update soon. Release notes.
- BuddyPress Business Profile 2.2.0 is a security and accessibility release, recommended for all sites. It requires PHP 8.1 or later. Release notes.
- Member Reviews 3.8.1 notifies admins when a review is reported and badges auto-hidden reviews. Release notes.
- Group Reviews 3.9.1 follows your theme’s colours in light and dark mode, and its CSV export runs in batches for large sites. Release notes.
- BuddyPress Schedule Activity 1.6.0 publishes scheduled activity at the time the member picked, even on sites that are not on UTC. Release notes.
Learning: Learnomy 2.1.0 to 2.1.3
Learnomy had four releases. Together they make selling courses simpler for you and buying them simpler for your students:
- Guest checkout lets a visitor buy with only an email. It is off until you turn it on (2.1.0), and 2.1.2 adds guest PayPal checkout.
- Purchase emails include receipts, certificates show the instructor’s name, and lessons can carry attached files (2.1.0).
- One site currency for everything sold, and fixed-term access that ends and renews cleanly (2.1.1).
- Every date is shown in your site’s timezone, grades are editable, block themes are supported, and sales from other systems are recorded through one signed endpoint (2.1.2).
- Pro adds fair monthly-to-yearly plan changes and refunds that stop billing for Spaces.
2.1.0 also closes an order confirmation page that any signed-in member could open for another member, so update if you have not. Release notes: Learnomy and Learnomy Pro.
Directories, marketplaces and job boards
Listora 1.9.0 and 2.0.0: every enquiry becomes a lead
In Listora 2.0, every contact-form message is saved as a lead in the free plugin, so no enquiry depends on an email arriving. Each listing type gets its own moderation and review settings, and term pages show the filtered directory. Pro adds hourly to monthly budgets on needs and credit receipts.
Version 1.9.0 reorganised the admin into nine menus with a dashboard that leads with what needs attention, put every email under Settings > Notifications, and gave directories a map that fits the results. It also closed two ways credits could be overspent. Release notes: Listora and Listora Pro.
WP Career Board 1.8.0 and 1.8.1: several companies per employer
Version 1.8.0 is a reliability release: a setup wizard with safer defaults, private hiring notes and a 1 to 5 rating on each application, Google for Jobs markup, and a closed page instead of a 404 when a job expires. Pro adds credits employers buy from the dashboard, guest job alerts with double opt-in, and a Hiring Pipeline page.
Version 1.8.1 lets one employer run several companies and redesigns the employer and candidate dashboards. Release notes: WP Career Board and WP Career Board Pro.
WP Sell Services 1.8.0: express delivery and member reports
Vendors can offer express delivery per package, members can report a service or a seller, and there is a dedicated Log In page. Pro prices express delivery through WooCommerce and adds a real Test Connection for cloud storage. Release notes: WP Sell Services and WP Sell Services Pro.
Events: Eventonomy 1.8.0
Eventonomy 1.8 adds a waitlist for paid events, undated and link-only events, richer venue and organizer profiles, one Moderation inbox, organizer payout requests, and a rebuilt Map View. It also fixes donations being recorded as a second registration and a sold-out ticket tier letting extra RSVPs through. The shared notification inbox needs BuddyNext 1.2.2 or newer. Release notes: Eventonomy and Eventonomy Pro.
Engagement, publishing and roadmaps
- WB Gamification 1.6.5 imports from myCred, GamiPress or BadgeOS at any community size, with progress, resume and undo. The full leaderboard is browsable past the top 100, WP Sell Services orders and reviews earn points, and staff can manage Levels and Submissions without full admin access. Release notes.
- WB Member Blog 4.4.0 counts views on cached pages, lets members publish by default again, and cuts notifications down to the four events that matter. Release notes.
- Product Roadmap 1.8.0 is a security and data-integrity release: guest voting works, vote counts mean people who voted, and permission checks cover the REST edit and analytics routes. Release notes.
Stores and themes
- Wbcom Essential 4.7.0 adds four checkout blocks (Progress, Trust Badges, Social Proof and Recommendations) for EDD’s Checkout block, a server-rendered Product Catalog, and card updates on subscriptions from My Account. Release notes.
- Custom My Account Page 1.7.1 gets a new settings screen, a redesigned avatar upload popup and a matching Endpoints builder. Release notes.
- Open Graph for WooCommerce 2.1.0 feeds your organisation logo and social profiles into structured data and adds an optional Email share button. Release notes.
- BuddyX 5.1.8 and BuddyX Pro 5.1.8 extend dark mode to the whole Dokan seller dashboard, let search include content from our plugins, and keep button text readable on any accent colour. The minimum PHP version is now 8.1. Release notes.
- Reign 8.0.8: theme search finds community and plugin content, the left panel can start below the header, and four bundled jQuery plugins are gone. Release notes.
Which updates matter for your site
Security first. Jetonomy 2.0.1, MediaVerse 2.6.1, BuddyLists 1.3.0, BuddyPress Business Profile 2.2.0, Learnomy 2.1.0 and Product Roadmap 1.8.0 each close security issues. If you run any of them, update before anything else.
You sell access or courses: BuddyNext 1.2.5 and Learnomy 2.1.3 change how people pay, so test one purchase on a staging copy after updating. You run a directory or job board: Listora 2.0 turns enquiries into leads you can act on, and WP Career Board 1.8.1 suits agencies that hire for several companies. You run events: the Eventonomy waitlist means a sold-out paid event still collects interest.
What we are working on next
We do not give dates for work in progress. Each item ships when it has passed QA, and it will appear in a future issue when it does.
- BuddyNext 1.2.6 and the matching Pro release.
- Jetonomy Pro 2.0.2, and Jetonomy installable with Composer for developers who manage plugins that way.
- Eventonomy translations into German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese.
- BuddyPress Business Profile 2.2.2.
- Reign 8.0.9 with header work, and BuddyX Pro 5.1.9.
How to install these Wbcom Designs updates
- Install free and Pro together. Their versions ship in step, and a Pro update often needs the matching free version.
- Take a backup first, and try the payment-related updates on a staging copy.
- Clear your page cache after updating, so members see the new screens straight away.
- If an update does not appear, check that your licence is active in the plugin’s settings, or download the latest version from My Account.
Would you rather not handle updates yourself? Our WordPress maintenance service covers updates, backups and testing on your own site. See you next week.
