Why this industry
Section 508 conformance is enforced by law in the United States. The European Accessibility Directive is enforced for public-sector bodies in the EU. Multilingual delivery is required for residents who do not speak the dominant language. Plain-language is a federal mandate. Not directly. We work as a subcontractor to prime contractors who hold GSA, OASIS, or agency-specific vehicles. We can also work directly with state and local agencies that procure through standard RFPs. We do not chase set-aside contracts.
WCAG 2.1 AA is our default and Section 508 maps closely. We design and build to the standard from the start, run automated audits, and run manual screen reader testing. We document the conformance report and any known gaps where vendors or third-party content limit full compliance.
