Industry Education

LearnDash, BuddyPress, and certification systems.

Universities, corporate training, course creators with five-figure programs. We ship the LMS, the community layer, the SSO integration, and the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility that education sites legally need.

Why this industry

Education has constraints that other industries skip.

Accessibility is a legal requirement, not a nice-to-have. Student data has retention rules. SSO with the institutional IdP is non-negotiable for universities. Cohort-based programs need a community layer that on-demand video platforms cannot provide. Most agencies skip these constraints because they are unglamorous. We lead with them.

We have shipped LearnDash since 2016, BuddyPress integrations since 2017, and institutional SSO since 2019. The work compounds. The patterns we use today are the ones we wish we had used on the first project.

What we work with

Who we ship for in education.

01

Universities and continuing education

Department websites that need to talk to a course catalog, single sign-on with the institutional IdP, FERPA-aware data handling, accessibility audits to WCAG 2.1 AA. The engineering is unglamorous and most agencies skip it.

A university course portal that passes accessibility review and the IT security team.

02

Corporate training and L&D teams

Compliance training, certifications, manager dashboards, SCORM and xAPI imports, automated assignment by role or department. Enterprise reporting that HR can actually run.

Training portals that 5,000 employees use without IT help desk tickets.

03

Course creators at scale

You outgrew Teachable, Thinkific, or Kajabi and you want a platform that does not charge per student. WordPress with LearnDash, plus a community layer, plus your own checkout.

A course platform with no per-student fees and full content ownership.

04

Cohort-based course operators

Live cohorts, member directories, group discussions, mentor-student pairing, capstone projects, certificate workflows. The community layer is what separates cohort programs from on-demand video libraries.

Cohort completion rates 3 to 4x what self-paced video delivers.

What we build

The LMS engineering education actually needs.

01

LearnDash and LifterLMS development

Custom course types, group enrollment, drip schedules, prerequisite logic, certificate templates, gradebook integrations. We have shipped 60-plus LearnDash sites and we know the plugin source code.

LMS sites that match the program design, not the plugin defaults.

02

BuddyPress community plus LMS

Cohort discussions, group projects, member directories, mentor matching. The same BuddyPress engineering we ship for community platforms, integrated with the LMS data layer.

A learning experience that engages 2x more than thread-only or video-only.

03

Certification and credentialing systems

Custom certificate templates, expiration dates, renewal workflows, public credential pages, badge issuing, integrations with Credly or Open Badges. Audit-ready records for regulated industries.

Credentials that survive a regulatory audit two years after issue.

04

Single sign-on with institutional IdPs

SAML 2.0, OAuth, Shibboleth, LDAP. We integrate with Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, and university IdPs. User provisioning, role mapping, deprovisioning on offboarding.

SSO that the IT security team approves and the help desk does not own.

05

SCORM and xAPI content imports

Existing SCORM packages from Articulate or Captivate import directly. xAPI events flow to a learning record store. Legacy LMS content does not have to be rebuilt to switch platforms.

Migrations that retain 100 percent of existing course content.

06

WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility

Education sites have legal accessibility requirements in most jurisdictions. We design and build to WCAG 2.1 AA, run automated audits, and document the gaps where they exist.

Accessibility audits that pass without remediation contracts.

Common questions

Frequently asked

  1. Why WordPress instead of Canvas, Moodle, or D2L?

For corporate training, course creators, and continuing education, WordPress with LearnDash is faster to customize, cheaper to operate, and easier for marketing to integrate with. For accredited degree programs, Canvas or Moodle is usually the right answer because the institutional integrations are already built. We can integrate with both.

  2. Can WordPress handle 10,000 enrolled learners?

Yes, with proper engineering. We have shipped LearnDash sites past 50,000 active learners. The default WordPress hosting will not handle it. The plugin will. Architecture and database tuning matter more than the plugin choice at that scale.

  3. How do you handle FERPA and student data?

FERPA-aware hosting partners, audit logs on student records, role-based access controls, data retention policies, breach response runbooks. We document the architecture for your compliance team. We are not a FERPA auditor and we do not pretend to be.

  4. Can you migrate from Teachable, Thinkific, or Kajabi?

Yes. Course content, student records, payment history, and SEO redirect maps. The migration takes four to eight weeks depending on volume. We keep the existing student URLs working so password reset emails do not break.

  5. What about WCAG accessibility?

Education sites have legal accessibility requirements. We design and build to WCAG 2.1 AA from the start. We run automated audits with axe and Pa11y, plus manual screen reader testing. We document the gaps where vendors or third-party content blocks full compliance.

  6. What does an LMS engagement cost?

Course creator migrations from Teachable are scoped per project. Custom LearnDash builds are scope-dependent. University and corporate training portals are scoped after discovery depending on SSO and integration scope. Discovery call is free.
