Do I need BuddyPress to use WPMediaVerse?

No. WPMediaVerse is a standalone media platform with its own pages, upload tools, and social features. If BuddyPress is active, profile tabs, group tabs, and activity feed integration activate automatically.

How is this different from rtMedia?

rtMedia stores uploads as WordPress attachments in wp_posts — the same table as your pages and products. WPMediaVerse uses three dedicated MySQL tables with indexed columns, keeping media queries completely separate from WordPress core data.

Will this slow down my site?

No. Media queries only touch dedicated tables. No global scripts or CSS on non-media pages. Tested with 100,000+ media items without query degradation.

What happens to my files if I deactivate?

Nothing. Media files stay in wp-content/uploads/wpmediaverse/ and database tables remain. Deactivation does not delete any data.

Can I migrate from rtMedia or MediaPress?

Is the AI moderation really free?

Yes. OpenAI Vision integration is included in the free version. You provide your own OpenAI API key. Pro adds Google Vision and AWS Rekognition as additional moderation providers.

Does it work with my theme?

Yes. WPMediaVerse works with any WordPress theme — no specific theme required. Templates are overridable from your theme directory.

What about GDPR compliance?

WPMediaVerse integrates with WordPress built-in privacy tools. User data export includes all media metadata, comments, follows, and messages. Erasure requests remove all data from WPMediaVerse tables.
