Here is the setup we use for a three-slide headline slider on a community homepage. It takes about ten minutes and needs no Pro licence.

1. Install and create: install Smart Slider 3 from Plugins → Add New, open Smart Slider → Dashboard and click New Project → Create a new project → Slider, then choose the Blank template.
2. Size and type: set the slider type to Simple, width 1200 and height 400, and switch the background to a flat brand colour so there is no image to download.
3. Add text layers: on the first slide, add a Heading layer for the message and a Button layer for the call to action. Set the heading font size per device in the responsive bar: 48px desktop, 32px tablet, 24px mobile.
