In this tutorial you will see how to unpublish a post, or delete it, from your blog dashboard. You need the free WB Member Blog plugin, installed and active, and a role that may write. It takes about two minutes. There are four steps. Open the menu on your post. Unpublish a post. Delete a post. Then check your post.
Step one. Open the menu on your post. Open My Blog Dashboard and find a published post. Next to Edit is a button with three dots. Click it. The menu has two actions, Unpublish and Delete. Both ask you first.
Step two. Unpublish a post. Open the menu and click Unpublish. A window asks Unpublish this post. Readers will no longer see it. It moves to your drafts, and you can publish it again later. Click Keep it live and nothing changes. Click Unpublish in the window, and the post goes to your drafts.
Step three. Delete a post. Open the menu again and click Delete. The window asks Delete this post. This post will be moved to the trash. Click Cancel to keep it. Click Delete in the window to move the post to the trash.
Step four. Check your post. We chose Keep it live and Cancel, so the post is exactly where it was. It is still on the Published tab, and the number beside the tab has not changed.
That is all four. The menu on your post, Unpublish with its question, Delete with its question, and the post checked. You can now take a post down or remove it, safely. Next in this series: Use your blog dashboard: Published, Drafts and Pending.
