How to Show Member Posts on Any Page in WB Member Blog

How to show member posts and writers on any page, and add your own content before or after every member post, with WB Member Blog, step by step. Edit a page in the block editor and open the blocks with the plus button. Search for member blog to find blocks such as Recent Member Posts, Popular Member Posts, Featured Posts and Member Blog Authors, and click one to add it. Each block is also a shortcode, so the same lists work wherever your site takes shortcodes. Select a block to set its options, such as how many posts, how many columns and what each post shows, then save the page. Visitors see each list on the page. To add content around every member post, open WB Plugins, then Member Blog, then Shortcode Areas and paste a shortcode, such as a call to action, into Before Entry or After Entry (above and below the full post) or the excerpt boxes (above and below each excerpt in a list). An empty box adds nothing. Click Save Settings.

In this tutorial you will put lists of member posts on any page, and add your own content before or after every post. You need the free WB Member Blog plugin, installed and active. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open a page in the editor. Find the Member Blog blocks. Set a block's options. See the page. Then add content around every post.

Step one. Open a page in the editor. Go to Pages, and edit the page where member posts should show. Here it is a page called Community Blog. Open Document Overview to see what the page holds: a heading, then a Member Blog block, three times over.

Step two. Find the Member Blog blocks. Click the plus button at the top left to open the blocks, and search for member blog. Here they are, such as Recent Member Posts, Popular Member Posts, Featured Posts and Member Blog Authors. Click one to add it to the page. Every block is also a shortcode, so the same lists work wherever your site takes shortcodes.

Step three. Set a block's options. In Document Overview, click Recent Member Posts. Its settings open on the right. Choose how many posts to show, how many columns, and whether to show the picture, the excerpt, the date and the writer. Then click Save.

Step four. See the page. A visitor sees each block's list under its heading. First the editor's picks, the featured posts. Then the latest posts from members, newest first. And the writers, each with a link to their posts.

Step five. Add content around every post. Open WB Plugins, then Member Blog, then Shortcode Areas. Paste a shortcode into a box, such as a call to action. Before Excerpt and After Excerpt go above and below the excerpt in post lists. Before Entry and After Entry go above and below the full post. An empty box adds nothing. Then click Save Settings.

That is all five. A page in the editor, the Member Blog blocks, a block's options, the page, and content around every post. Member posts can now show anywhere on your site. Next in this series: Turn Pro modules on and off.
