How to Schedule a Post and Use the Calendar in WB Member Blog

How a writer schedules a post to go live later and plans posts on the Calendar, with WB Member Blog Pro, step by step. The Post Scheduling module starts off on a new site: turn it on under WB Plugins, then Member Blog, then Manage Modules, then open Scheduling. Default Publish Time fills the time picker (9:00 by default), Minimum Schedule Time keeps posts at least one hour ahead, and Scheduled Posts lists every post waiting to go out. On the writing page, the writer opens the Publishing fold, ticks Schedule for later, picks the date and time (in the site's time) and saves the post; it goes live by itself at that time. If the site checks posts first, it waits for approval and keeps its date. My Blog Dashboard has a Calendar tab: published posts are green, scheduled posts purple and drafts grey. A scheduled post has buttons to reschedule it or unschedule it back to a draft, and can be dragged to another day. Unscheduled drafts lists drafts, each with a Schedule button.

In this tutorial a writer schedules a post to go live later, and plans posts on the Calendar. You need WB Member Blog Pro, with its Post Scheduling module on. It starts off on a new site. It takes about three minutes. There are four steps. Set up scheduling. Schedule a post. See it on the Calendar. Then schedule a draft.

Step one. Set up scheduling. Turn on Post Scheduling under Manage Modules, then go to WB Plugins, Member Blog, Scheduling. Default Publish Time fills the time picker, nine in the morning here. Minimum Schedule Time keeps posts at least one hour ahead. Scheduled Posts lists every post waiting to go out, with its writer and time.

Step two. Schedule a post. On the writing page, open the Publishing fold and tick Schedule for later. Pick the date and time. This post goes live on the twenty second of October at nine. Times are in your site's time. Then save the post. It goes live by itself at that time. If your site checks posts first, it waits for approval and keeps its date.

Step three. See it on the Calendar. My Blog Dashboard has a Calendar tab. Published posts are green, scheduled posts purple, and drafts grey. Here is the scheduled post, on the twenty second. Its two buttons reschedule it, or unschedule it back to a draft. You can also drag it to another day.

Step four. Schedule a draft. Under the calendar, Unscheduled drafts lists your drafts, each with a Schedule button. Or drag one onto a day.

That is all four. Scheduling, a scheduled post, the Calendar, and scheduling a draft. Your writers can now plan when each post goes live. Next in this series: Group posts into a series.
