How to Edit the Emails Member Blog Sends in WB Member Blog

How to see, switch off and reword every email WB Member Blog sends, with WB Member Blog Pro, step by step. Open WB Plugins, then Member Blog, then Notification Emails (the Notifications module is on by default). Five emails are listed: the reading digest, a writer you follow published, a post needs approval, your post was approved, and your post was sent back. Each shows what it is for and who it is sent to: followers, the selected administrators, or the post author. Turn an email's switch off and click Save Settings, and nobody gets it; members can also stop the emails they get from the unsubscribe link in each one. Click Edit subject and text to write your own subject and message; an empty box keeps the built-in wording, and placeholders fill in details such as the post title and the reason. Click Save Settings.

In this tutorial you will see every email WB Member Blog sends, switch one off, and change its wording. You need WB Member Blog Pro, with its Notifications module on, as it is on a new site. It takes about two minutes. There are four steps. Open Notification Emails. See who gets each email. Switch an email off. Then write your own wording.

Step one. Open Notification Emails. Go to WB Plugins, then Member Blog, then Notification Emails. Every email Member Blog sends is listed here. There are five: the reading digest, a writer you follow published, a post needs approval, your post was approved, and your post was sent back.

Step two. See who gets each email. Under each name, a line says what the email is for, and Sent to says who receives it. Followers, the selected administrators, or the post author.

Step three. Switch an email off. Each email has a switch on the right. Turn one off, click Save Settings, and nobody gets that email. Members can also stop the emails they get, from the unsubscribe link in each one.

Step four. Write your own wording. Click Edit subject and text under an email. A Subject box and a Message box open. Type your own words. An empty box keeps the built-in wording. The placeholders below fill in the real details, such as the post title and the reason it was sent back. Then click Save Settings.

That is all four. Notification Emails, who gets each one, switching one off, and your own wording. Your emails now say what you want. Next in this series: Choose who is told about posts waiting for review.
