How to Let Members Choose Their Emails in WB Member Blog

How members choose which WB Member Blog emails they receive, with WB Member Blog Pro, step by step. A member opens My Blog Dashboard, then the Settings tab (from the Author Dashboard and Notifications modules, on by default); the Notifications part opens first. Under Email Notifications, one box sends an email when their post is published and one when a reviewer sends it back; both start ticked. Under Writers you follow, one box tells them when a writer they follow publishes a post (ticked) and one sends a digest of what those writers published (off unless they ask, and sent only when the site owner has turned on Digest email, which is off on a new site). They untick any email they do not want and click Save Preferences. The choices apply to that member's emails only.

In this tutorial you will see how each member chooses which WB Member Blog emails they receive. You need WB Member Blog Pro, with its Author Dashboard and Notifications modules on, as they are on a new site. It takes about two minutes. There are four steps. Open the Settings tab. Emails about your posts. Emails about writers you follow. Then save your choices.

Step one. Open the Settings tab. A member opens My Blog Dashboard, then the Settings tab. The Notifications part opens first. Every member sets their own choices here.

Step two. Emails about your posts. Under Email Notifications, one box sends an email when your post is published. The other sends one when a reviewer sends your post back, with what to change. Both start ticked.

Step three. Emails about writers you follow. One box tells you when a writer you follow publishes a post. It starts ticked. The other sends a digest of what they published. As the note says, it is off unless you ask for it. It is only sent if the site owner has turned on Digest email, which is off on a new site.

Step four. Save your choices. Untick any email you do not want. Then click Save Preferences. Your choices apply to your emails only.

That is all four. The Settings tab, emails about your posts, emails about writers you follow, and saving your choices. Members now get only the emails they want. Next in this series: Limit how many posts a member can publish.
