How to Let Editors Review Posts on the Front End in WB Member Blog
How to let reviewers approve member posts, or ask for changes, right on the writing page, with WB Member Blog Pro, step by step. The Co-Authors module starts off on a new site: turn it on under WB Plugins, then Member Blog, then Manage Modules. Open Co-Authors and scroll to Editorial Workflow. Front-end review tools adds Approve and Request Revision buttons to the writing page; it starts off, so switch it on and click Save Settings. A new site publishes member posts at once, so first untick Access, then Publish immediately; only then do posts wait for review. Under Reviewer Roles, Administrator and Editor start on; switch on any other role that may review. Editors and any other role picked here can clear member posts only, and never a post they helped write; Administrators can clear any pending post. On a pending post, the writing page says the post is pending review. Approve and Publish asks to confirm, then publishes the post and tells the writer. Request Revision asks what to change, then sends the post back to the writer with the note.

In this tutorial you will let reviewers approve posts, or send them back, from the writing page. You need WB Member Blog Pro, with its Co-Authors module on. It starts off on a new site. It takes about two minutes. There are three steps. Turn on front-end review. Pick the reviewer roles. Then review on the writing page.
Step one. Turn on front-end review. Turn the Co-Authors module on under Manage Modules first. Then open Co-Authors, and scroll to Editorial Workflow. Front-end review tools adds Approve and Request Revision buttons to the writing page. It starts off. Switch it on and click Save Settings. It is on here. A new site publishes member posts at once, so first untick Publish immediately under Access. Only then do posts wait for review.
Step two. Pick the reviewer roles. Administrator and Editor start on. Switch on any other role that may review. Editors and any other role you pick here can clear member posts only, and never a post they helped write. Administrators can clear any pending post.
Step three. Review on the writing page. A reviewer opens a post that is waiting. It says the post is pending review. Approve and Publish asks you to confirm, then publishes the post and tells the writer. Request Revision asks what to change, then sends the post back to the writer with your note.
That is all three. Front-end review, the reviewer roles, and reviewing on the writing page. Your reviewers can now decide without leaving the post. Next in this series: Schedule a post and use the Calendar.
