How to Group Posts Into a Series in WB Member Blog

How a writer groups posts into a series that readers follow part by part, with WB Member Blog Pro, step by step. The Post Series module starts off on a new site: turn it on under WB Plugins, then Member Blog, then Manage Modules, then open Series. Default Navigation Style sets how the links between parts look (Buttons by default), progress tracking remembers which parts each reader has read (on by default), and Manage Series lists every series with its writer, posts and status. On the writing page, the writer opens the Collaboration fold and picks a series, or clicks Create New Series; Order in series sets the part number, and left empty the post becomes the next part. Each series has its own page with the writer, the number of parts, the status, the reader's progress, Start Reading and All Parts. Each part says which series it belongs to, and after the post Prev and Next move through the series.

In this tutorial a writer groups posts into a series that readers follow part by part. You need WB Member Blog Pro, with its Post Series module on. It starts off on a new site. It takes about three minutes. There are four steps. Set up series. Add a post to a series. Open the series page. Then move between parts.

Step one. Set up series. Turn on Post Series under Manage Modules, then go to WB Plugins, Member Blog, Series. Default Navigation Style sets how the links between parts look. Buttons is the default. Progress tracking remembers which parts each reader has read. It starts on. Manage Series lists every series, with its writer, its posts and its status.

Step two. Add a post to a series. On the writing page, the writer opens the Collaboration fold and picks a series, or clicks Create New Series. Order in series sets the part number. Leave it empty, and the post becomes the next part.

Step three. Open the series page. Each series has its own page, with the writer, the number of parts and its status. Readers see how far they have read. Start Reading opens part one. All Parts lists every post in order.

Step four. Move between parts. Each part says which series it belongs to, here part two of three. After the post, Prev and Next move through the series, and the name opens the series page.

That is all four. Series settings, adding a post, the series page, and moving between parts. Your writers can now publish in parts, and readers follow along. Next in this series: Charge credits to publish.
