How to Charge Credits to Publish in WB Member Blog

How to charge members a credit for each post they publish and sell more credits in packs, with WB Member Blog Pro, step by step. The Post Credits module starts off on a new site: turn it on under WB Plugins, then Member Blog, then Manage Modules, then open Post Credits. Default Credits is how many a new member starts with (25 by default), Credits per post is what each publish costs (1 by default), Block at Zero Balance stops a member publishing once their credits run out (on by default), and Purchase URL is the page members are sent to when they need more (it starts empty, so set it to the page that shows your packs). With WooCommerce, create credit packs with a name, the credits, a price, a type and an optional description; the products stay hidden from your shop, and the credit packs shortcode shows them on any page. Members pick a pack, click Buy Now and pay through your WooCommerce checkout; once the order is paid, the credits are added to their balance. On the writing page each member sees how many credits are left and what publishing costs. Administrators are never charged.

In this tutorial you will charge members a credit for each post, and sell more credits in packs. You need WB Member Blog Pro, with its Post Credits module on. It starts off on a new site. To sell packs you also need WooCommerce. It takes about three minutes. There are four steps. Set up Post Credits. Sell credit packs. Buy credits as a member. Then see the balance.

Step one. Set up Post Credits. Turn on Post Credits under Manage Modules, then go to WB Plugins, Member Blog, Post Credits. Default Credits is how many a new member starts with, twenty five here. Credits per post is what each publish costs, one here. Block at Zero Balance stops a member publishing once their credits run out. It starts on. Purchase URL is the page members are sent to when they need more credits. It starts empty, so set it to the page that shows your packs.

Step two. Sell credit packs. With WooCommerce, you create packs here, with a name, the credits, a price, a type and an optional description. They stay hidden from your shop. This site sells three packs. Put the credit packs shortcode on a page to show them.

Step three. Buy credits as a member. Members open your packs page, pick a pack and click Buy Now. They pay through your WooCommerce checkout. Once the order is paid, the credits are added to their balance.

Step four. See the balance. On the writing page, a member sees how many credits are left, and what publishing costs. Each post they publish takes one credit. Administrators are never charged.

That is all four. Post Credits, credit packs, buying credits, and the balance. Members now pay a credit to publish, and can buy more when they run out. Next in this series: Find your way around the Member Blog settings.
