In this tutorial you will organise your roadmap with your own stages, categories, priority and dates, and match it to your brand. You need Product Roadmap. The last step, Theme Color, needs Product Roadmap Pro. It takes about four minutes. Four steps. Edit your Statuses. Edit your Categories. Set Roadmap Details. Then set Theme Color. A long list of items is hard to read, and customers give up before they find what matters to them. With your own stages, categories, priority and dates, customers find their items fast. Your colours make it look like your product.

Step one. Edit your Statuses. A status is a stage, such as Idea, Planned, In Progress or Completed. Open Roadmap, then Statuses. Add New Status makes a stage of your own. Name, Slug and Description are all it needs.

Step two. Edit your Categories. A category is an area of your product, such as Editor, Sync or Sharing. Add New Category works the same way. Customers can filter the roadmap by category.

Step three. Set Roadmap Details. Open any item. On the right, open Roadmap Details. Priority tells customers how important it is. Progress shows how far along it is, as a percentage. Target Date places the item on the roadmap by when it is due. Vote Count is worked out for you. Completion Notes and External Link say what shipped and where to read more. With Pro, Pro Features adds Start Date, End Date, Effort Estimate and a GitHub Issue URL.

Step four. Set Theme Color. With Pro, open Roadmap, then Products. Each product has a Settings button. Click it, and the box has a Theme Color. It tints the buttons and badges on that product roadmap. Pick your brand colour and click Save Settings. Every roadmap page for that product follows it.

That is all four. Statuses and Categories edited, Roadmap Details set, and Theme Color chosen. Your roadmap now looks like your product. Next in this series: Publish release notes customers read.
