In this tutorial you will publish release notes that customers actually read, with every change labelled, on your own site. You need the free Product Roadmap plugin. It takes about four minutes. Four steps. Add a change log entry. Add the changes. Review the Change log Types. Then show the change log on a page. You fix bugs and add features, and customers never notice, because the news is buried in an email or a forum post. One change log page lists every release, with New Feature, Enhancement and Fix changes. Customers see the value they get from you.

Step one. Add a change log entry. Open the Change log menu, then Add New. Each entry is one release. Give it a title. In Release Details on the right, set the Version, the Release Date and the Release Type. Products and Change Types in the same sidebar file the entry under a product and a type.

Step two. Add the changes. Below the editor, the Change log Items box lists what changed in this release. Each row has a Type, such as New Feature, Enhancement or Fix, and a Description in plain words. Click Add Item for the next row, then Publish. The release appears on your change log page.

Step three. Review the Change log Types. On this tab, each type is a coloured badge, with a Name and a Slug. New Feature, Enhancement, Fix and Security are ready to use. Edit changes a badge name or its Text Color and Background. Manage All Types adds your own, for example Performance.

Step four. Show the change log on a page. Add the short code roadmap change log to any page. This is the result, as a visitor sees it. Each release lists its changes with the badges you set. The short code also takes limit, to show only the latest entries. And collapsible, which folds each version until a customer opens it.

That is all four. A change log entry added, its changes listed, the Change log Types reviewed, and the change log shown on a page. Your customers can now see what you shipped. Next in this series: Run a separate roadmap for each product.
