In this tutorial you will feature member posts, so they show as your editor's picks. You need the free WB Member Blog plugin, installed and active. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open the Featured column. Feature a post. Feature several at once. Take a post off the picks. Then see your picks on a page.

Step one. Open the Featured column. In your WordPress admin, open Posts. WB Member Blog adds a column called Featured to the list. A star marks a featured post. A dash means it is not featured.

Step two. Feature a post. Point at a published post you like. Its row links include Feature. Click Feature, and a star appears in the Featured column. Only published posts can be featured.

Step three. Feature several at once. Tick the posts in the list. Choose Feature from Bulk actions, and click Apply. Unfeature, in the same list, takes the star away.

Step four. Take a post off the picks. On a featured post, the same link reads Unfeature. A featured post that is unpublished also leaves the picks on its own.

Step five. See your picks on a page. Add the Featured Posts block to any page. This page uses it under the heading Editor's picks. It shows your picks, three at a time unless you change the number in the block settings. Feature or unfeature a post, and this list follows.

That is all five. The Featured column, one post featured, several at once, a post taken off, and your picks on a page. You can now choose the member posts readers see first. Next in this series: Read a post and clap for it.
