In this tutorial you will give members a ladder to climb in WB Gamification, with named levels and badges. You need the free WB Gamification plugin, installed and active. It takes about four minutes. There are four steps. Name your levels. Browse the Badge Library. Set the Auto-Award Conditions. Then award a badge by hand. Members need a next step. Without one, they stop once the novelty fades. Named levels and badges that take real effort give them something to aim for, and something to show.

Step one. Name your levels. Open Levels. Each row has a Level Name and the Min Points Required to reach it. The Add Level form below adds a new one. Then click Save Levels.

Step two. Browse the Badge Library. Each card is a badge, with how many members have earned it. Auto-Award means the plugin gives it when the rule is met. Create New Badge adds your own.

Step three. Set the Auto-Award Conditions. A badge opens with its Name and Description. Under Auto-Award Conditions choose ALL of these or ANY of these, then add a condition for each thing a member must do. Also award this badge to members who already qualify is off by default, so a badge is earned from now on.

Step four. Award a badge by hand. At the bottom, Award this badge to a user takes a member name. Search for the member, then click Award Badge. The badge is theirs at once.

That is all four. Levels named, the Badge Library browsed, auto-award conditions set, and a badge awarded by hand. Members now have a ladder to climb. Next in this series: Make badges worth showing off.
