What is a loyalty program for customers? It is a simple deal. Customers earn points each time they come back, and spend those points on rewards. Points for each action. Levels that show status. And rewards worth spending on. Without one, most shops see the same thing. A customer orders once, and is never heard from again. So the shop sends a discount to everyone, loyal or not. And the best customers get no more reason to return than a stranger does. Here is how it works. A customer does something you value. Points are added to their account. As the points build, their level rises, and they can see it. And when they have enough, the points buy a reward. On a WordPress site with WooCommerce, points can come from placing an order, a first purchase, or a product review. And from things that are not purchases at all. Joining the site. Leaving a comment. A visit each day. Here is one running on a real site. A customer books a place at an event, and the points arrive straight away. Every customer gets a page of their own, with the balance, the level, and how far it is to the next one. And a leaderboard shows where they stand this month. Then comes the part that makes it a loyalty program. Spending. You open a rewards store, and give each reward a cost in points. With WooCommerce, a reward can be a coupon for a percentage off, or for a fixed amount. The code is created the moment the customer redeems. Or it can be a custom reward that you fulfil yourself, like a gift or early access. You can limit the stock of each reward, and every redemption is logged. The shop owner names the levels, so status means something to your customers. Badges mark the milestones you choose, and are awarded automatically. And the reports show which actions are bringing customers back. You could rent a loyalty app. That means a fee every month, for as long as the program runs. Your customer data sits on their servers. And the day you stop paying, the program your customers trusted is gone. On your own site, setup takes four steps. Install the plugin. Set the points for each action. Add the rewards and what each one costs. And put the rewards store on a page your customers can find. Side by side. A fee every month, or a free plugin to start. Customer data on their servers, or in your own database. Their rules, or your points and your rewards. A program that ends when you cancel, or one that stays as long as your site does. Shops that reward repeat customers give them a reason to return. Every order placed without one is a customer you may not see again. WB Gamification is the points and badges plugin for WordPress.
