In this tutorial you will show your roadmap in the layout that suits each audience: Board, Timeline, Cards or List. You need the free Product Roadmap plugin and Product Roadmap Pro. It takes about five minutes. Five steps. Show the Board layout. Show the Timeline layout. Show Cards and List. Choose the Default Template. Then add the Roadmap block. One layout does not fit everyone. Some customers want a quick list. Others want a plan by date. With Pro you pick the layout for each page, so every audience reads your plans the way they like.

Step one. Show the Board layout. The Board has a column for each status, like a Kanban board. Customers see at a glance what is Planned and In Progress. Each card shows its votes. Use the Board for an overview of everything.

Step two. Show the Timeline layout. The Timeline places items on a line by target date, in Now, Next and Later. It suits customers who plan around dates.

Step three. Show Cards and List. Cards gives each item a card with a short preview. List folds each status into a heading you open when you want it. Pick Cards for a visual page. Pick List for a long roadmap that should stay short on screen.

Step four. Choose the Default Template. On the Templates tab, Default Template sets the layout for every roadmap that does not name one. Below it, Template Shortcodes lists the shortcode for each layout, ready to copy. Custom CSS and Enable dark mode support style every layout. Show milestones adds markers on the Timeline. Timeline Settings picks the Timeline Scale, monthly, quarterly or yearly. Click Save Settings after a change.

Step five. Add the Roadmap block. In the page editor, click the Block Inserter at the top left. Search for Roadmap. The Roadmap block puts a roadmap on the page without a shortcode.

That is all five. The Board, Timeline, Cards and List layouts seen, the Default Template chosen, and the Roadmap block found. Every audience can read your roadmap its own way. Next in this series: Plan quickly in a long list.
