In this tutorial you will plan faster in a long list: drag items into place, filter the board, and store your own details on each item. You need the free Product Roadmap plugin and Product Roadmap Pro. It takes about four minutes. Four steps. Turn on Enable drag and drop. Use Manage Mode on the Board. Filter the Board. Then fill in Pro Features on an item. With forty items, planning one edit at a time is slow, and you lose the whole picture. Pro lets you move items on the board, filter a long list down to what you need, and keep your own details on each item.

Step one. Turn on Enable drag and drop. On the Advanced tab, under Pro Features, Enable drag and drop is ticked here. With it on, editors can reorder items right on the board. Click Save Settings to keep a change.

Step two. Use Manage Mode on the Board. Signed in as the owner, the Board has a Manage Mode button. Click it, and the cards get edit buttons. Customers never see these controls. They only see the finished board.

Step three. Filter the Board. The bar above it has Statuses, Categories and Sort By. Sort By puts the most voted, the most recent or the highest priority first. Search roadmap finds an item by its name. Together they turn a long list into a short one.

Step four. Fill in Pro Features on an item. Open an item, then open Pro Features on the right. Start Date and End Date bound the work. Effort Estimate and Estimated Hours size it. Assignee says who owns it. GitHub Issue URL links to the code. Click Save when you are done.

That is all four. Enable drag and drop turned on, Manage Mode used, the Board filtered, and Pro Features filled in. You can now plan a long list quickly. Next in this series: Collect more ideas, even from visitors.
