BuddyPress Giphy

Text-only activity posts feel flat compared to the expressive conversations members have on other platforms. BuddyPress Giphy adds a GIF picker to the BuddyPress activity form, pulling from the full Giphy library so members can attach animated GIFs to any post or comment. Requires BuddyPress or BuddyBoss Platform.

  • Members can now post a GIF on its own, with no caption, in activity updates and comments. Previously an empty caption blocked the post.
  • Members with limited roles (such as Subscriber or Customer) can now open and use the GIF picker. Previously they saw an "Unauthorized access" message in private messages and elsewhere.
  • The GIF button no longer appears in the main activity newsfeed when activity GIFs are turned off in settings.
  • Resolved a rare error that could interrupt the activity stream on some sites when certain other plugins were active.

  • Your existing settings, API key, and license carry over unchanged.
