In this tutorial you will show members their progress in WB Gamification, on a page, in blocks, and on a public profile. You need the free WB Gamification plugin, installed and active. It takes about four minutes. There are five steps. Add the progress page. See it as a member. Place blocks and shortcodes. Show a public profile. Then add the earning guide. Progress that nobody sees does not motivate anyone. Members need a place to look. One page can show points, level, badges, streak and challenges together. Members check it, and come back to improve it.
Step one. Add the progress page. It is an ordinary page that holds one block, the Hub. Add the Hub block to any page, click Save, and members have their progress page.
Step two. See it as a member. Hana sees her Points, Current Level, Badges Earned and Day Streak at the top. Below, cards open My Badges, Challenges, Leaderboard, Kudos and her activity.
Step three. Place blocks and shortcodes. Every part of the game is also a block. This page uses the Leaderboard block. Click the Block Inserter and search for a name, such as Status, to find the User Status Bar. Most blocks also have a shortcode that starts with wb gam, for pages without the block editor.
Step four. Show a public profile. Every member gets one. It shows a name, points, badges and level to anyone. The badge board shows every badge she has earned, each with the date she earned it.
Step five. Add the earning guide. This page uses the Earning Guide block, so members can see how to earn points. It lists each action with its points, read from your Points settings, so it is never out of date.
That is all five. The progress page added, seen as a member, blocks placed, a public profile shown, and the earning guide added. Members can now see how far they have come. Next in this series: Reward the right things and stop point farming.
