Some members stay silent because they are not ready to attach their name to a sensitive topic or unpopular opinion. BuddyPress Anonymous Activity lets members post and comment anonymously across groups and the community feed, with custom anonymous avatars and display names. Admins control which groups and user roles can use anonymous posting.
Other members' names no longer show as "Anonymous" when they like, react to, or comment on an anonymous post - the anonymous label now applies only to the original poster.
Notifications are now suppressed only for genuine anonymous posts, so notifications on regular (non-anonymous) activity are no longer affected.
