The situation
Garrett Discovery examines computers, phones, audio, video and medical records for lawyers, and runs eDiscovery for legal teams. Its clients are defence attorneys, law firms and investigators who decide in minutes whether a firm looks credible. The firm does not run one website. It runs a series of them: the main service site, training for lawyers, a professional community, product sites and the tools that bring in events and enquiries.
How it started
In December 2014 the firm hired us to build a training site on WordPress and an LMS. That one project turned into eleven years of work. Each time the firm launched something new, it came back to the same team.
What we have built and run
- Training that lawyers can register for. An online training site first, and today a Training for Lawyers area with upcoming webinars and registration.
- A professional community. A site for forensic professionals, with email verification so only the right people join.
- Sites for each product. Separate sites for the firm’s own products, each with its own message and audience.
- A store with training. A WooCommerce shop set up for the firm’s licensed products, with training for the team that runs it.
- Reliable email. Transactional email set up and managed on SendGrid, and later a dedicated sending domain for the firm’s marketing email.
- A rebuilt main site. A full rebuild of the service site in 2019, now organised by service: computers, mobile phones, audio, video, vehicles, medical records and eDiscovery, each with its own page, plus lab locations, events and a resource library.
- Event pages on its own domain. HubSpot event landing pages that sit on the firm’s own site, so a registration link looks like the firm and not like a third-party tool.
- Short links and a video page. Short links for the firm’s texting account, and a branded video page for testimonials.
- SEO and ads. Search optimisation and advertising work alongside the site, so the pages the firm builds are found.
What it makes possible
A firm that can launch a webinar, a product or a new service line and have the site, the email and the registration page ready around it, run by people who already know every part of how it fits together.
