Give your community feed a visual, ephemeral format.
Instagram-style stories on member profiles and the activity stream.
Your BuddyPress community feed is a scrollable list with no ephemeral, visual-first format to drive quick engagement. WP Stories adds tappable stories to BuddyPress, BuddyBoss, and PeepSo communities, with image and video stories on member profiles and the activity stream.

How it works
From post to auto-expiry, in three steps.
- 01
Publish
Members post an image or video story the same way they would on Facebook or Instagram, choosing who sees it from the visibility options you allow. Set the default publication status to Pending Review and every story waits for a moderator. Publishing rights are granted per WordPress role.
- 02
Viewers
Stories appear on the activity wall and member profiles, plus any story box you place on a page with the shortcode. Members can group them into collections with their own cover image and title, the way Instagram Highlights work. Likes are counted, and the story owner can see exactly who watched it.
- 03
Auto-expiry
Turn on story expiry and a story stays visible for the number of days you set, then drops out of the feed. You can also schedule expired stories, and their uploaded files, for permanent deletion after a grace period. Deleted stories do not go to the trash and cannot be recovered.
Configuration
Every rule lives in settings, not code.
Set the default publication status to Pending Review so nothing goes live unreviewed. Decide how many days a story stays visible, cap how many stories a member publishes and how many items go into one of them, and pick from three rendering styles. Publishing is granted per WordPress role, and you choose which visibility options members can pick from when they post.
Beyond that: an upload size ceiling in MB, a checklist of the exact image and video file types members may upload, a switch that hides stories from logged-out visitors entirely, and a viewer list only the story owner can see. Mobile-friendly and right-to-left by default, with no toggle to find.
Pricing
Three site limits, the same stories feature in every plan.
Personal, Professional, and Agency share the full feature set. The plan only controls how many sites you can run it on. Every tier is available annually or as a one-time lifetime license. Read the refund policy.

- 04
Is there a trial version available?
There is no trial version, but every purchase includes a 30-day money-back guarantee.
- 05
Can I limit how many stories a member posts?
Yes. You can limit how many stories a user publishes overall, and how many they add in a single update.
- 06
Can I require approval before a story goes live?
Yes. Set the default publication status to Draft or Pending Review and a member’s stories only publish after a moderator releases them.
- 07
Who is allowed to post a story?
You decide, per WordPress role. You also choose which visibility options members can pick from when they post: Everyone, Only Me, All Members, or My Friends.
- 08
Can members see who viewed their story?
Yes, when Show Story Viewers is on. The viewer list is visible only to the member who posted the story, not to the rest of the community.
- 09
What happens to a story once it expires?
It stops showing in the feed. If you also schedule automatic deletion, expired stories and their uploaded files are permanently removed after a grace period you set. They do not go to the trash and cannot be recovered.
- 10
Can I keep stories away from logged-out visitors?
Yes. One switch hides stories from anyone who is not signed in, so visitors have to log in before any story is visible.
- 11
Can I run this on more than one site?
Yes, depending on plan. Personal covers one site, Professional covers five, and Agency is unlimited.
