Own engagements end to end
Run client projects from kickoff to delivery on Basecamp. Define scope, set milestones, and keep the project moving without surprises on either the client or the engineering side.
Kickoff to delivery on Basecamp.
Careers Project Manager
Full-time role based in our Lucknow office. You own client engagements from kickoff to delivery: Basecamp for project management, weekly written status, scoped 30-minute calls, and dev access from day one. You sit between client expectations and engineering capacity, and keep both honest.
We are looking for a project manager who can hold a client engagement together without drama: clear scope, written updates, realistic timelines, and an engineering team that always knows what is next. We run async and in writing, so the audit trail is searchable years later.
You will coordinate between customers and engineers across multiple time zones. The work is part planning, part communication, and part keeping scope honest so projects ship on time.
Responsibilities
Four areas of the work. The split shifts week to week depending on what is in flight, but all four are part of the role.
01
Run client projects from kickoff to delivery on Basecamp. Define scope, set milestones, and keep the project moving without surprises on either the client or the engineering side.
Kickoff to delivery on Basecamp.
02
Send a clear written status every week: what shipped, what is next, what is blocked. No status-meeting theatre. The update stands on its own and stays searchable later.
A written status every week.
03
Keep calls to a focused 30 minutes with an agenda and a written follow-up. Most decisions happen async; calls are for the ones that genuinely need a conversation.
30-minute calls, written follow-up.
04
Sit between client expectations and engineering capacity. Flag scope creep early, renegotiate timelines before they slip, and protect the team from thrash.
Scope and timelines, kept honest.
Requirements
Four hard requirements. Without these the role will not be a fit. With them, we want to talk.
01
You have run client or product projects end to end, ideally in a software or agency setting. You know how to scope, schedule, and keep a project on track when reality intrudes.
End-to-end PM experience required.
02
You write clear, concise updates and briefs in English. Our weekly status and most decisions are written, so writing is the core skill here, not a side one.
Writing is the core skill.
03
You understand how software gets built: branches, pull requests, releases, and why a small change is sometimes hard. You do not need to code, but you should speak the language.
Fluent in how software ships.
04
You juggle multiple engagements across time zones without dropping threads, and you keep both clients and engineers informed at the same time.
Composed across many threads.
Nice to have
Not required, but if you have any of these, mention them in the cover letter.
01
You understand WordPress, plugins, and themes well enough to scope work and talk to clients without a translator in the room.
WordPress literacy.
02
You have run projects in Basecamp, or a comparable async-first tool, and you genuinely prefer written over real-time coordination.
Async-first tooling.
03
You have shaped proposals or scoped statements of work. Useful for turning a fresh enquiry into a clear, deliverable project.
Proposal and SOW experience.

After 16 years of buying WordPress themes and plugins, I know exactly what bad support looks like and Wbcom Designs is the polar opposite. My setup was a nightmare: multiple tools, deep integrations, custom configurations that required…
