Somebody liked the post. The author never found out.
BuddyPress records a favourite and then says nothing about it. This tells the author, through the notification they already read, with an optional email and a popup that arrives without a refresh.
Needs BuddyPress. Version 2.1.0. Works on comments as well as posts.

Both count. Comments are where most of the appreciation lands, and BuddyPress ignores them.

A BuddyPress notification, in the same place they check everything else. An email can go with it, or not, as you prefer.

Questions before you install.

What happens when someone favourites a post?
The author gets a BuddyPress notification, and optionally an email. A realtime popup can also appear without the page being refreshed.

Does it cover comments too?
Yes. Favouriting a comment notifies its author the same way it does for an activity post.

Can members see who liked something?
Yes. A who-liked-this line sits under each activity, in the style people already recognise from other networks.

Can I see what is doing well across the site?
There is an admin overview listing the most favourited content, ranked by how many favourites each item has.

Is the email compulsory?
No. It is optional and sits alongside the in-site notification, so you can run notifications only.

Does it have settings?
Yes, there is a settings screen with display options and per-user defaults. It is not a configure-nothing plugin, though the defaults are sensible enough to leave alone.
