BuddyPress · Free · Activity feed

Your best post reaches the people who were already here.

BuddyPress activity stops at the edge of your community. This adds a Share control next to Comment and Favourite, so members can post it anywhere.

Needs BuddyPress. Version 3.5.4. Five networks on by default.

Six networks

Five are on the moment you activate it.

No configuration needed to start. Turn any of them off, reorder them by dragging, and recolour each one to match your theme.

  • Facebook On by default
  • X On by default
  • LinkedIn On by default
  • Email On by default
  • WhatsApp On by default
  • Pinterest Ships off, switch it on

Copy the link instead

A copy-to-clipboard action sits alongside the networks, for the members who would rather paste it somewhere themselves.

Add your own

Beyond the six built in, you can register extra share targets with your own icon, which is how regional networks get added.

Match the theme

Each network carries its own background colour setting, so the tray can follow your palette instead of six brand colours fighting it.

Questions before you install.

  1. 01

    Which networks are included?

Six: Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Email, WhatsApp and Pinterest. Five of them are switched on the moment you activate the plugin; Pinterest ships off and you turn it on if you want it.

  2. 02

Where does the Share control appear?

Next to Comment and Favourite on an activity entry, so it sits where members already look rather than in a separate widget.

  3. 03

Can I turn networks off, or change their order?

Both. Untick any network to remove it from the tray, and drag the remaining ones into the order you want.

  4. 04

Can I add a network that is not on the list?

Yes. You can register extra share targets with your own icon, which is the route for regional networks.

  5. 05

Will the buttons clash with my theme?

Each network has its own background colour setting, so you can tone the tray down to your palette instead of running six brand colours.

  6. 06

What if a member just wants the link?

There is a copy-to-clipboard action alongside the networks.

  7. 07

What does it need to run?

BuddyPress with the Activity component active.

  8. 08

    Is it really free?

Yes, and there is no paid edition of this plugin. Every network and every control described here is in the free download.
